A Picturesque Moors Village
Hutton-le-Hole is an attraction in itself. It is one of the most picturesque villages in the Yorkshire Moors. Built around the village green, traditional cottages in mellow stone line the stream that runs the length of the village.
The Ryedale Folk Museum invites you to step back in time to explore 19 historic buildings from the area that have been reconstructed in the grounds. After the museum, you can visit the tea rooms, the ice cream shop or stop by the Crown Pub for a meal and a stronger drink.
Hutton Le Hole makes an ideal location for visiting the Yorkshire Moors National Park – you can tour in your car, stopping off at such lovely villages as Rosedale, or you can simply park and go for a long walk. One challenge is the 40 mile walk across the moors, known as the Lyke Wake Walk.
